The Dragon's Den Cave is the most famous cave in Poland and is located in the centre of Kraków, the old capital of Poland.

The legend of this cave is interesting. Once upon a time, an evil dragon took up residence in the cave under Wawel Hill. For years it wrought havoc and sowed death all around. Finally, a local cobbler filled an animal skin with sulfur and threw it at the dragon in the cave. The next morning the beast devoured the victim. The sulfur burned its throat and the thirsty reptile began drinking water from the Vistula River until its stomach burst.

Today, an impressive figure of the mythical creature stands near the entrance to the Dragon's Den cave. From here, a hundred steps descend down into the cave.
