Diamond Head

Diamond Head is the most famous volcanic crater in the world and is located on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. It has a height of 230 meters and has a diameter of 1060 meters. Formed 200,000 years ago, the volcano extinct 150,000 years ago. In the 1980s, British sailors saw him from afar and thought the glittering calcite crystals in the frozen lava for diamonds and hoped to get rich. That's where his name comes - Diamond Head. The crater was used for military purposes during the First and World War II. There are pedestrian routes that lead to the top of the crater, which gives you spectacular views.
