Mount Whitney (4417m) is the highest peak in California and the United States outside of Alaska. It is located in the northern part of the Mochova Desert. The western slopes of the mountain are part of the Sequoia National Park. Mount Whitney is one of the most frequented climbs. Its eastern wall is a huge granite rock descending steeply to the Owens Valley. There are various climbing routes such as the Eastern Wall, the Climbing Route and the world-famous routes along the big rock walls. The interest in visiting here is so great that you need to make a visit request in advance.
