Alonissos, Greece
Undoubtedly the only one of the most beautiful Greek islands is the island of Alonissos. It is located near Skopelos, east of Greece, with shores flooded by the deepest waters of the Aegean Sea. In the business picture of Alonissos, pine forests and the sea stand out as a pan. That is why the fairy tale "at sea among the pines" was born, which fits extremely charmingly into the island beauty of Alonissos. An interesting fact for the inhabitants of Alonissos is that they sell their homes to foreigners and settle at the foot.
The island of Alonissos has preserved historical landmarks to tell its story. For example, the fact that it was inhabited hundreds of years ago the evidenced is the city of Ikos on the place of present Kokkinokastro, where the remains of the Acropolis wall have been preserved. They say it's impossible to go to Alonissos and not "drown" in history. Every stone, every town or village, everything is steeped in history and bears the mark of different events and peoples. Such are, for example, the preserved ruins of a Byzantine fortress wall built by the Venetian rulers of the island, as well as a church that survived a devastating earthquake.
The beaches of Alonissos are unique. One of them is the one on the most picturesque bay on the island - Votsi. Chrisi-Milia is another beach pearl of Alonissos. It is located northeast of Patitiri. Kokkinokastro beach is on the business card of the island - romantically surrounded by a picturesque pine grove.
