
Church of San Francesco di Paola, Naples

The Church of San Francesco di Paola in Naples is located in Piazza Plebiscito, one of the main squares in the city. At the beginning of the 19th century, the King of Naples, Joachim of Mura, decided to erect a large building with columns in the square in praise of his Emperor Napoleon. After the Restoration and the return of the Bourbons - Ferdinand I completed it in the form of a church in 1816. Church of San Francesco di Paola was named after Church of San Francesco di Paola and resembles the Pantheon in Rome. Its dome is 53 metres high.
