The Cathedral of Naples, known as Cathedral of St. Januarius, is named after St. Januarius who is also the saint patron of the city. The building was constructed between 1294 and 1223 in the French Gothic style, but was significantly altered after an earthquake in 1456. The chapel of St. Januarius, two vials of blood are kept, which are brought out in procession. The saint's tomb itself is also interesting, being in the Renaissance style.
