Walt Disney (1901-1966) was the great dreamer who, thanks to his great imagination and extraordinary workaholism, created the Disneyland empire. When he was fired from the newspaper where he worked at the age of 22, it turned out to be a turning point in his life. Going to Hollywood, Disney, along with his brother Roy, created Disney Brother Studios. It was here that Disney's favourite cartoon character, Mickey Mouse, was born, of whom Disney himself says: "I love Mickey Mouse. To me, he's a symbol of independence." Later, the brothers founded the Disneyland Company, famous for its amusement parks.

The creation of the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando began in 1965, when the Disney brothers and the governor of Florida signed the building permit. Sadly, Walt Disney died before seeing the completion of this fantastic project. Located 4 km from the city of Orlando, the amusement park occupies an area of 100 sq. km. Walt's brother, Roy continues his work. The area is swampy, which allows for the presence of many water pools in the park. There are four theme parks, two water parks, and 24 hotels spread over the entire area, which are so fascinating that one can't stop admiring the imagination of this extraordinary visionary. There are also numerous shops, restaurants and entertainment venues within the park. Visits to the Walt Disney World park in a year are about 70 million people.

The Magic Kingdom was the first park completed in 1971.The decor of Main Street in the Magic Kingdom theme park resembles a street in small-town America in the early 20th century. With inspiration from Walt Disney's childhood and the movie "Lady and the Tramp", one of his most famous animated films, this town features a simple barbershop, souvenir shops and candy shops with sweets from back in the day like candied apples and crispy cookies. The names of notable people from the amusement parks are painted on the windows of the buildings, and the vehicles are vintage cars and phantoms. The main street ends with Cinderella's all-white castle, 58 meters high , with its isle-headed towers and the wonderful architectural features on it.

At the entrance to the fairytale palace, visitors are introduced to the popular cartoon characters Goofy, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Surrounding Lake Buena Vista is a green lawn with interesting trees and shrubs. There are designated spaces to explore the jungle of Africa, the town square of the Caribbean, and Aladdin's magic carpet ride is an amazing experience.  Mickey's House in the Magic Kingdom, opened in 1988, has delighted all children who love the lovable Mickey Mouse until 2011. It has now been replaced by a fantastic castle with interesting attractions such as "Peter Pan's Flight", "Fairy Tale Hall", "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh", "Mickey's Adventures" and many more. The new attractions also include "The Train with the Seven Dwarfs".

Epcot is the second of four theme parks at Walt Disney World. Opened to the public in 1982, it is twice the size of the Magic Kingdom. Dedicated to human achievements in various fields, Epcot is often referred to as a "permanent world's fair". The icon of Epcot is the spaceship "Earth", representing a huge sphere. At the entrance to the park, the beautiful words inscribed on a sign make an impression: '...EPCOT can instill a new sense of faith and pride in man's ability to shape a world that offers hope to people everywhere'.

Epcot includes numerous beautifully landscaped plazas with a variety of landscaping, glass pyramids of the imagination, and Japanese, Mexican, Chinese, and Italian pavilions, each with the characteristic architecture of the country. The light show every night at the park's closing is astonishing. It takes place in the Lagoon of the World Showcase- a huge lake. The lagoon, surrounded by 19 large torches signifying the first 19 centuries of a bygone era, illuminated by multi-colored lights, is enchantingly beautiful. The show ends with a lotus blossom opening, revealing the 20th torch of the completed 20th century. Every year, Epcot Park hosts a flower festival with more than 20 thousand participants and it is a manifestation of beauty of colours.

Disney's Hollywood Studios are the emblem of the third theme park at Walt Disney World. Opened in 1989, as soon as one enters the park, one is off on Hollywood Boulevard, where moments from Hollywood's diverse life are recreated. Around Mickey's Magic Hat, visitors can enjoy the 30-minute Indiana Jones show or experience the adventure of simulated flights into the future. For those who want to test their mettle, there's the Tower of Terror and the 100mph roller coaster. There are plenty of surprises for young and old at this theme park.

The Animal Kingdom is a zoological theme park, where there are about a thousand animals that walk peacefully in their natural habitat. The most impressive here is the Tree of Life, located on Discovery Island.

The attractions of the water parks located around Lake Buena Vista are extremely interesting. Slides descend from man-made mountains and hills, geysers erupt, and magnificent waterfalls plunge. In one of the water parks, the slides are coloured green, purple and red, and the colour determines the type of slide-a stand-alone slide of greater height or a family slide.

A vacation at one of the Walt Disney World park hotels can be enjoyable and full of surprises and challenges. The park is only 45 minutes from the Orlando airport, close to the many attractions offered at the park, and also to bus and rail transportation within Walt Disney World.
